Taking care of the environment is no longer a local issue—it’s a global challenge that affects all of us! To tackle this head-on and inspire our young people to get involved, IES Playamar teamed up with Collège Bellevue in Fort-de-France (Martinique) for an amazing international partnership.

A Great Synergy Benefiting All Partner Schools
This international collaboration was a fantastic synergy within our Green ICT Detectives project. The best part? Every single partner school in our network benefited from this initiative! By joining forces, sharing resources, and exchanging unique cultural perspectives, we brought incredible value to the entire project. Students and teachers across all partner schools now have access to top-notch bilingual learning materials, real-world environmental data, and the chance to connect with peers from different parts of the world.
Investigating Water and Sustainability Together
Using authentic resources—such as the official magazine from the Office De l’Eau Martinique—we developed hands-on, interactive learning units focused on water management and ecosystem protection.
This tied in perfectly with our mission as «Green Detectives,» where students mix technology with scientific research to find real solutions for our planet.
Boosting Language Skills Through Science!
This activity also had a huge impact in our language classrooms:
- In French Class: Students at IES Playamar worked with the original and adapted French materials to boost their language skills while diving into real ecological data from Martinique.
- In English Class: Both schools used the English versions of the units to practice technical vocabulary, debate environmental issues, and build international communication skills around sustainability.
Connecting our classrooms in Spain and Martinique proved that environmental challenges know no borders—and neither do great educational ideas. We can’t wait to keep working together for a greener future!
